We are thrilled to announce that 30 Innovative Teacher Grants were awarded to dedicated USD 265 educators across the District on Friday, December 5th, 2025! These grants will fund innovative projects, purchase cutting-edge resources, and create inspiring learning experiences for our USD 265 students. From STEM equipment to enhanced literacy materials, our teachers are bringing innovation into the classroom!
The Innovative Teacher Grant program is a direct result of the support generated throughout the year. The GIVE. GRATITUDE. GODDARD. campaign is one of the ways the GEF is able to raise funds that invest in the future of our students and the passion of our educators.

Our Discovery students had an action-packed end to the month. The Night of Neon dance was a huge hit—thank you to our amazing PTO for putting together such a fun evening for our students!
We also had several DART students show their speed and determination at the Turkey Trot 2-mile race. Congratulations to Nolan Koziol (13:48) and Boston Burkholder (14:29) for taking 1st and 3rd place in the 10 and under category! Way to represent Discovery! 🏃♂️🥇
It was wonderful to see so many families come out to support our runners on a chilly morning. We're proud of all our participants!

This Friday is the PTO "Night of Neon" Dance at Discovery! This dance is for Discovery students only, the entry fee is $5 cash, concessions will be sold for $1 each and we will also have glow items for sale for $1-$2. The drop off and pick up procedure will be the same as daily drop off, 5th grade on the north side of the building and the 6th grade in the front parking lot. Doors will open at 6:00 PM and pick up at 7:30 PM. We can't wait to see you all there for an evening of fun!
Our heroes were greeted by a beautiful Hero's Wall created by Mrs. Nixon, surrounded by heartfelt poems written in library class and stunning poppies crafted by Mrs. Heim's social studies students. The Aux gym was transformed into a special space dedicated entirely to honoring their service and sacrifice.
A delicious breakfast, prepared by Susan Perkins, owner of A Heart of Country Catering and GHS Assistant Principal, was served with pride by our Pride Pack students. Our guests enjoyed wonderful fellowship and received tokens of our appreciation.
Thank you to all of our heroes for your dedication, sacrifice, and service to our community and country.
